#Livemoreconsciously
Hi peeps, as I had previously mentioned, prior to the actual event, Green Is The New Black (GITNB) focuses on  promoting social and community awareness in how to improve the way we live, work and consume in our daily lives. The idea is to provide knowledge that inspires us to make more conscious decisions.

Held for the very first time in Singapore on  22 October , right on the grounds of Hotel Jen Tanglin, the venue could not be more apt as Hotel Jen Tanglin is also an advocate of supporting environment sustainability and going Green.

Read on for my #throwback!

THE TALKS
It was indeed inspiring and a humbling experience hearing the speakers and advocates speaking on the way they had created their business with environmental sustainability and conservation in mind. Hearing their passion and beliefs in what needs to be done in the fash fashion industry, in the food and health sector, really is encouraging that someone out there is eagerly doing their part for the environment and the community for the future generations.

The talks were split into 3 tracks namely: Having - all about Fashion and Consumption, Being- Self and Inner Compass; Doing- working with a purposeful impact
I was there was the first 2 tracks. Enlightening and inspiring for someone like me who is not in either of these industries but simply was there because of interest and to get some hindsights from the experts. I am pretty sure for those in the industries, they could certainly have related to the speakers even better.

1st Track: Having
Being in particularly intrested in seeing the relationship between fashion and environment, speakers gave their share of how fast fashion is indeed detrimental to the enviroment. From the growth of cotton to the use of coloring dyes and fabrications in factories. I had no awarness that there was such a huge impact in a little piece of clothing. These speakers are true advocates of their beliefs and create sustainable fashion in their own ways.

Much thanks to Green Is the New Black for the invite. Had a valuable time learning how green can be the next 'in-thing' and that we would all be more environmentally conscious as consumers or even as business owners.
Don't we all?
