OUE Downtown Gallery kicks off July with a series of events and experiences designed to inject vibrancy into the urban community in the Downtown Core area – starting with an attempt to set a record for Singapore’s Longest Fruit Mosaic on 2 July.

We witness the creating on a new record attempt a 200-metres-long fruit mosaic stretching the entire length of Downtown Gallery which brings together Singaporean youths from the Polytechnics and families.

While the youths went on working on the mosaic, the public was also encouraged to be part of this engaging and interactive creation and many were there since the early morning to help out.

Chingay is one of Singapore's most celebrated parade and happens yearly during the Chinese New Year festive period. 2000 volunteers and 8000 parade performers come together with representatives performance from 1000 to 1500 organisations for this parade this year.

The parade will be upcoming this Friday, 10 February and Saturday, 11 February from 8 pm to 10 pm at F1 Pit Building.

We were treated to a night of dancing, singing and visual feast. It was my first time attending a 'live' Chingay parade and I really enjoyed the robust celebration atmosphere. Worth mentioning will be the 360m X 3m waterway included along with the parade route this year which sees a more interactive performance between performers and audiences. The mad thundering rain apparently did not dampen the spirits of the many young students who were there during their rehearsal segment when we were there.

Check it out.

Run To Live Great

The Great Eastern Women's Run came to a happy end yesterday ( 13 November). The race saw hundreds of women and young ladies joining races of various categories. So many amazing women and stories behind it all.

Read on my last post for the race's background write-up.

To all women ( and supportive men) who participated and supported in the races, thank you! Hope you had a great time out and cheers on for 2017!

Thanks to GEWR for the opportunity to join in, though I had a  muscle stain and could only go for 5km. It was fun and I am sure every ladies had also enjoyed their time with families and friends.

 Let's target 10km next year! ( or who knows 21.1km?) :)

Scroll down for pictures of the race day!
