Want to know where I am having this gigantic don in Tokyo?
Read on for the 4th part of my Tokyo Travel journey~~

Yes, Today' we will cover the Tsukiji Fish Market

We reached the market at about 8 am and were not able to catch the tuna fish auction which happened daily at 5 am and bear a limit to 120 persons. The trains did not start running till about 6am-ish and it was not worth the money to grab a cab just to watch the auction as well you know that cabs in Japan are expensive.

Businesses start way early at the fish market area.

Along the outer market area, there were many food stalls and sellers selling snacks and confectionery.

We met a very amiable elderly lady store owner selling sweets. :)

She even offered to help us take photos~

Sources of Wasabi

Here were the stalls selling cooked food, sushi etc. Tsujiki is well known for its sushi breakfast crowd and there were many choices to choose from.

Thongs of tourists crowd in the morning and Daiwa-Zushi is one of the more popular sushi eateries ones you won't missed because of the super-duper long queue.

When one is up and about travelling, time is precious and is it really worthy to spend time queuing? I don't know. But for those who had tried their sushi before was it awesome? I bet it is but still I wouldn't mind trying other sushi stalls down the streets as well, for time's sake.

Just a few stalls down, we spotted Tenfusu Tempura! I have read reviews on the excellent quality of their tempura and yes we headed in for breakfast, with no queue.

Isn't this GORGEOUS? Absolutely palatable and drool-worthy~

Here's the tempura don with a mixture of everything fresh from the fish market wholesale area. I can't remember but it should be 1500Yen. I was absolutely sold to their delicious tempura!!

My dearest sister

Dying to have a bite of the piping hot, tasty and crispy prawn tempura? We were very amazed with our own abilities to finish off  our individual huge bowls.

Say hi to the chef, very nice of him to smile for my camera while busy preparing in the kitchen. They are open daily from 7am to 2pm.

Head to their stall if you are famishing and don't wanna join the never ending queues for sushi.

Only 2 people in the stall and this friendly auntie takes orders and serves.

Alright heading on outside, we walked around the outer market.

We headed to the wholesaler market where there are 100 over stores in little spaces selling their goods. Along the lanes are carts and trucks everywhere so be careful as the locals are running businesses and as tourists we tried not to interfered with them too much.

Gigantic abalone!

Such vehicles are trademarks of Tsukiji Market for transporting foods around.

Walking out of the wholesales area, we headed on under the gloomy raining skies

Nearby the market, there's a small standalone shrine - Namiyoke Inari Shrine.

It's quite a lovely tranquil place..

Anyway to my surprise, previously unknown to me, my pal showed me another food street! This street is famous for selling egg Omelettes!  ^_^

There's grilled scallops too.

Omelettes are only selling for 100Yen. Cheap finds, cheap thrills.

Finished it in four bites. Soft smooth pipping hot eggs on a rainy day

Preparing the seemingly simple eggs actually needs a line operating system. Talk about efficiency.

And before leaving the Tsukiji area, we visited another shrine - The Tsukiji Honganji

It was a gloomy rainy day

I would never have known this place if not for my local friend... ^^

The ways to praying are as illustrated and no joss sticks were used.

Photography is surprisingly allowed in the main hall, but yup this is another tranquil and peaceful place to clear your thoughts.

Spotted such cute vending machines everywhere.
To get to Tsujiki Market:  Oedo line to Tsukiji-Shijo station, exit A1. Alternatively take the Hibiya line of the Tokyo Metro to Tsukiji station.

Let's head on to~~~~~~~~~ Guess where? Starts with A.
Coming soon~
