[ EATS] WARM, CRISPY TAI CHEONG EGG TARTS ( TAKASHIMAYA, ORCHARD)
Eggy Custards
Even months down the road, long queues can still be spotted for Tai Cheong Egg Tart right outside the Takashimaya Food Hall at level B2,
Just so happened I was there on a Sunday afternoon and alas, no queue! With were just 2 person outside the food hall line ( the queue outside the booth was still there), I was happy to just take a chance and hope for a fast wait in line.
If you don't already know, they break the queue into parts- inside the booth and outside of the food hall for fear of congestion within.
Happily, the whole process took 30mins from queue to purchasing. I would say not too bad a wait!

So try your luck, you may never know.

When you are finally in the main queue in front of the counter, a staff will take your orders and hand your a slip thereafter.
Baked freshly on the spot. That explains for the waiting time.
Here's the pricing

A Happy Gal
I was truly happy with the purchase.
The crust was buttery crispy and not too thick, which makes it a happy tea time snake. The smooth egg custard was delectable and not too sweet nor overly cloying. Of course best to have it on the spot after purchase while still warm.

If there are no terrifying long queues, I might just go for it again.
The packaging of a box of 4 is contained within a pretty white package ( as shown right on top of the post). I found it a waste to have it just thrown away like that. Perhaps it would be good to have options to use some cheaper box or their nicely-printed ones ( which makes for a good gift box).
