[Food Review] Chabuton Ramen is now in Singapore

by - Friday, August 22, 2014

The highly acclaimed ramen in Japan and Thailand has come to Singapore and as consumers and foodie lovers, we can't rejoice more.

We had the Tonkotsu Ramen ( non-spicy), $11,90 for a huge bowl and $8.30 for a small version. The huge bowl comes with 200g of noodles and is just as per normal serving size actually, just nice for 1 pax's portion. Don't worry, you will be slurping up in no time.

The fragrant aroma of the pork broth greets you on arriving. Topped with generous sliced chives and sesame seeds, the tastiness of the soup is further enhanced. The noodle was smooth and springy, fully absorbing the essence of the soup. Soup was light, not salty and yet flavorful. Charsiu was alright and goes well enough.

Choose sides to top-up with. You can add-on a soft boil egg or choose side dishes like the Fried Calamari which was chewy and tangy off every bite, highly recommended.

....Or top-up with Leeks + Pork slices. Flavored with some spiciness this small dish was refreshing and surprisingly delicious.

No regrets, this has got to be one of the best ramen I have had in a long time. Chabuton Ramen is also available in 3 other flavors- Tonkotsu Shio,  Miso Ramen or Shoyu style. Service was prompt with attentive waiting staff, the dining area spacious and comfortable, free flow of water and food serving time was relatively short as well.  All these little things add on to the wonderful dining experience in Chabuton. Of course the ramen was fabulous and I can't wait to return for more!

Head on for quality, no-fuss and economical ramen!
