Yong Tau Foo Gem
Another gem spotted at Chinatown Complex Food Centre was this Yong Tau Fu (YTF) stall. Why I, have not ever stepped food in Chinatown Food Centre for over 10 years was simply a mystery. Thanks to HK Soy Sauce Chicken, I once found gems in this place once again.

Hidden right at a blind corner of the food centre, which many would otherwise not have stepped foot in, is this snaking long queue spotted during the crowded lunch hours. And I kid you not. The queue went all the way with like 10 over pax in queue. Look at the tables and you will spot patrons having this bowls of YTF with ikan bills. Well, that certainly spiked my interest in asking this auntie where she bought it from.

We set foot twice, on another day at 2pm plus when the lunch crowd dispersed to have another soupy fulfilment of the YTF.

Slurrpy Delight
Seemingly ordinary in appearance, the taste is anything but. Put it simply, it was sweet, clear soup boiled with fish bones possibly, with the tasty tofu and fish-stuffed beancurd pieces.
It has been a while since I tasted such delectable clear stock.
For $3 with beehoon/noodles, you get 6 pcs or 8pcs for all the tofus and tau poks.
What I really adored really was the crunchy ikan bilis on top the plain simple beehoon.
Non stirred-fried in heavy oil like vegetarian bee hoon, this is bee hoon drained in hot water simply.
Simple, Light soup
If you are cleansing your intestine after all the heavy indulgence, this is the soup to go for.
Bland, some may think, but good enough for me especially since you can spice up with their garlicky- chili sauce.
Bland is better than salty right?
