[FOOD REVIEW] YONG KEE SEAFOOD RESTAURANT- CRISPY BEE HOON ( JALAN BESAR)

by - Thursday, April 21, 2016

You love chao ta aka 烧焦 ( crispy and burned) bee hoon?  Then you will love this crispy version. Well I have for sure.  The Crispy Vermicelli Bee Hoon as it is so aptly called is my first experience in accquirirng such a taste. We have all eaten claypot rice and the guo ba 锅巴 ( burnt rice crust at the side of the pot) before, but having beenhoon crust? That's another taste altogether.  The crispiness was right on point and the bee hoon was soft at other part and goes well with their chili sauce.  Topped with pork lards, spring onions and there, a simple but addictive staple.

We also ordered sides to go along with the beehoon and they are nice and tasty compliment of your rice or and carbo. The Seafood Beancurd was also one of the recommended dish but to us it was quite standard. So head there for a treat of crispy beehoon for some taste-bud stimulation!
