[Cafe Hopping in Singapore] Banana Tree- Korean Flower Cafe (Tanjong Pagar, Keong Siak)

by - Thursday, May 21, 2015

I had actually came to Banana Tree with high expectations, seeing all the raves and reviews on social media. Alas, it was not to be I guess. There was no crowd and the cafe was relatively empty on a weekday evening.
The cafe is spaciously wide with a lovely open roof window with sunlight filtering through. We love the vibe and decoration of the cafe, however the dessert was likewise.

We had only ordered their signature Flower Paap $6.50 in banana flavor.
Well, you get a mini flowerpot sprinkled with Oreo soil and topped up with fake flowers. Digged in and there's the banana pudding. Seriously, the flavor of the banana was not strong and the milk cream basically empowers the whole taste of the pudding. It was not the most delectable pudding ever and really, we agreed there was nothing special and wasn't quite worth the price.

There are other "Instagram-worthy" items like the fluffy cute looking Som Som Latte ($7) with the pink cotton candy. Have you tried before? How was it?
There is quite a limited selection on the menu and only sweets are served.

When the craze dies down, what happens? Only time will tell.
