Thanks to Channel U for the invitation to the private screening of A Taste of History 《寻味地图》 (infotainment) and Served H.O.T 《烧。卖》 (drama) prior to their TV debut . We and the numerous lucky fans, supporters and viewers of Channel U were treated to a sumptous 7 course local dishes at Swatow Seafood Restaurant ( P.S: The restaurant is not featured in the two programmes) and of course, previewed the episodes of both shows.

Read on to find out what went on~

First up, some pictures while waiting. With Elgena and Rui Ying.

With Hazel!

The generous hosts of Channel U actually invited that many viewers and supporters to have a sit-down dinner. Just look at the number of tables.

This is our table.

Bryan Wong was the host for the event that night and as usual he charmed the audience with his witty and humorous tactics. He is also the host for the upcoming program A Taste of History.

After some intro, the cast finally arrived!!

Not only do we anticipate the food, but there to share the glamour were of course the cast members themselves.
They included: Ya Hui, Ian Fang, Shane Pow, Aloysius Pang, Chew Chor Meng, Zhu Houren and Lee Teng

The interview went round 1 by 1 with each artist and it was really fun to listen to the happenings during the filming of both shows.

Remember to tune into Served H.O.T from 13th Jan onwards, Mon-Fri, 10pm and A Taste of History from 7th Jan onwards, every Tues , 830pm

Served Hot is about these 3 youths' journey who are on the pursue for the multi-million dollar Laksa recipe of a famous eatery, while A Taste of History combines food with history through selected local delicacies featured in every episode, presenting their local ethnic origin and long standing heritage. Discover the areas in Singapore where these local delicacies can still be found today.

Yahui and Lee Teng also performed a comical short skit.

And the fans had a mini celebration for Bryan Wong's birthday as well. So sweet.

Finally the celebrities were all seated down and it was time for the dinner to start!

Despite anticipating and feeling super hungry, we gotta do our job right? Here are some snapshots of the yummy dishes served on that night courtesy of Swatow Seafood Restaurant.

First up Steamed 'Siew Mai' with Fish Roe

Elgena doing her photography... ^^

Braised Crabmeat Fish Maw Soup. So tasty and filled with abundance ingredients.

Swatow Kampong Chicken

Steamed Sea Bass in Teochew Nonya Style

Wok-Fried Vegetables Deluxe

 Singapore Laska

Sweet Yam Paste with Pumpkin and Ginko Nuts.

The Best highlight for me was... a snapshot with Chew Chor Meng!! My all time childhood favourite.

Much to the delight of the fans, there was an interactive segment after the dining whereby celebrities went around the table and did a Popiah rolling competition!
Yahui was the celebrity allocated to our table.

Really applaud Channel U for the initiative to bring celebrities and the public closer through such interactions. It was really enjoyable and fun for everyone.

Suki was so cute, trying to grab a pic with Yahui.

Tada- done!!! Each celebrity had to roll 3 Popiahs so it definitely wasn't easy.

After they were done, they had their Popiahs judged by Chew Chor Meng and Zhu Houren and special guest Jayley Woo.

And... after rounds of discussions, Yahui was crowned the winner!!!!
Yea to our team~~

Table photo! Thanks to Channel U for the wonderful event and I had a good time with my blogger mates!!! Cheers.

  1. Occasionally we may be interested in celebrities for some kinder reasons than the usual. At times we follow the dramas of a life of white men who love black women and start to have caring thoughts about them.
