Brand Story
The story of BLACK PAINT began with a mother's love, and the search for inner and outer health for her daughter. It took much scientific study, but in the end her quest led to restored health for her child ... and a line of organic skincare that enhances the body's own renewal and self-protection processes instead of fighting them.
When Miyuki Maeda, the founder of Black Paint’s daughter was diagnosed with a serious, "incurable" kidney disease, her outlook on life was changed forever. Her inner fighter was awakened and she realized that the power for healing was in her hands. She would not stop believing there was an answer, nor stop working until she found it, no matter how long it took or where she had to look.
Miyuki studied modern physiology and bacteriology as well as traditional natural healing systems around the world. When she learned about beneficial bacteria, she saw the light. Bacteria that live symbiotically in our bodies are essential to our physical function, from digesting nutrients to protecting against disease. She realized that instead of killing those bacteria, we should nourish them so they can do their job.
The dark time of Miyuki's life has now ended, thanks to her determination to never give up the fight for her family's well-being. After the success of her "personal health study," she knew she had to share the benefits of her hard-won wisdom with the world. BLACKPAINT is the result.

What is BLACK PAINT®?
BLACK PAINT®, an organic skincare brand established in Kyoto 15 years ago by Myyuki Co.Ltd. Since ancient times, plant oil treatments have been taught to be a secret to beautiful skin. How to get rid of troubled skin?
In order to solve the troubled skin, we have to:
• Clean the pores to minimize damage done to pores
• Consume large amount of water
• Keep moisturized
• Prevent moisture lost

Later on, founder Ms Miyuki Maeda went on to give us a detailed presentation explaining on the concept and benefits of Black Paint via the help of their interpreter.
Troubled skin starts from pore
“Taking care of pores is the first step in maintaining great skin.”
There are approximately 200 thousands pores in our face. When the dead cells mix with the oil secretion (sebum) on our skin layers, it clogs our pores and prevents our skin from breathing, leading to troubled skin.
If all of them are clogged with waste and makeup, how would our face turn out to be? Enlarged pores, blackheads, breakouts…you name it.
On top of that, sweat and sebum (oil secretion) are unlikely to secrete sufficiently under imbalance skin condition, which in turn will result in dry, hardening and darkish appearance.
Frequent facial washing may also lead to dry skin and enlarged pores, which tends to rip moisture off our face and cause troubles. Exposure to air-conditioning is another reason which might result in facial dryness and enlarged pores.

Founder, Ms Miyuki Maeda searched the world over for the natural materials that would best support the skin's self-healing and protection processes.
• Natural Ingredients
use more than 100 kinds of plant-derived oils, essential minerals
and other natural ingredients such as silk, honey and brown sugar, together
with various plant oils and essential oils from all over the world which
approved by organic certification bodies in Germany and France.
• Pore- care
An average adult has around 20 millions of pores on his or her face. Dirt and oil on pores may
cause those pores get clogged and encourage the growth of bacteria which would causes
inflammation and irritation. No matter how strong is your cleanser/ facial wash, it is almost
impossible to pull out all the waste inside the skin's pores.
Most face cleanser use a solvent that removes makeup by melting its oils. Unfortunately, they
also remove skin’s natural oil and wash away the good with the bad. BLACK PAINT soap removes
only the makeup, with a gentle foaming film of vegetable oil that lets it slip easily off the skin's
surface.
• Supports Skin Microbiota
Human Microbiota is the microscopic organisms living in human body. The human skin is usually
slightly acid, mostly due to the effect of sebum secretion by skin glands which contained lactic
acid. Like our intestine, lactic acid bacteria act as a barrier to prevent microbes (other bacteria)
from entering our body.

• No Synthetic Preservatives

• Gently Manufactured
We have worked long and hard to develop manufacturing processes that don't compromise the
integrity of our products. For example, BLACKPAINT soap is cold pressed -- almost unheard-of
these days. Cold processing allows glycerin, a plant-derived emollient, to remain in the soap
instead of being boiled away. Cleansing naturally, it leaves skin soft, radiant and healthy.
This was followed by a live demonstration on the use of the BLACK PAINT® Face Soap.
A gentle pore cleansing hand- made face soap with Kishu Bichotan Charcoal (White Charcoal), the BLACK PAINT® Face Soap cleans pores and removes oil and dirt thoroughly but gently without stripping away skin’s essential moisture, leaving skin fresh and silky smooth.
• Deeply clean pores and removes keratotic plugs for smoother and fresher skin.
• Removes makeup in one wash without the need of makeup remover
• Nourishes skin with 23 types of plant oils, amino acids from silk powder and vitamins in honey and brown sugar
• Kishu Bichotan Charcoal effectively absorbs impurities and delivers natural minerals
• Organic and natural oils improve skin immunity and minimize skin irritation
• No alcohol, fragrances and artificial colorants

Your face will be covered in black with the soap, don't be alarm~
How to use:
※ Shut your eyes tightly and rinse. Keep eyes shut until all soap is gone to prevent the soap's salts
from getting into and irritating your eyes.
Later on, we had a hands-on ourselves by first softening the soap in a cup of water.
Afterwhich, apply the soap directly on your skin, massaging gently along the way and wash off with water.

A 100% natural facial sponge made from vegetable fibre, Kishu Binchotan charcoal (White charcoal) and various minerals that enhance absorptive ability, helps removing excess oil and dead skin cells in the most delicate manner.

How to use:
1) Soak the sponge in warm water for 3 to 5 minutes.
2) Press out the excess water. DO NOT TWIST the sponge.
3) Massage face/body with the sponge in a circular motion.
4) After use, rinse the sponge thoroughly. Press it between your palms to remove as much water as possible. Set in a cool place to dry.

Okay after cleansing with the Black Paint Soap, my hand did get brighter and cleaner on the spot. Think you can't really see the difference but it's visible~~
See on the left of my hand ( draw an imaginary line from the ring finger down) it's its "original", uncleaned state. If you seeeee really carefully, the right side ( from middle finger to thumb) which I have cleansed with the soap looked brighter, no?

Next, we tried out their Best Water Toner and Oil Water Rose Essence. Loving the sweet smell of the rose water and its fast absorption.
Best Water – S$59.90, 100ml

Last but not least, my favourite product of all:

A water-based moisturizing cream that protects your skin from dryness and maintains moisture all day long. Great as a makeup base.

Watery and cooling with a really pleasant Lavender scent makes for a great relaxing night cream.
So after these wonderful 4 steps skincare, my hand was left smooth and "sparkling". :) Proud to say and to my surprise, I received praises from the Black Paint Japan staff on the softness of my hand... haha. I have always been rough and do all kinds of things with my hands and had never thought of my hands as smooth. Nevertheless, thanks for the compliment !! ^^
