[Food Review] Ji Guang Xiang Xiang Ji 继光香香鸡 is here in Singapore! ( Tiong Bahru Plaza)
Now, you don't have to fly yourself to Taiwan to satisfy your craving for Ji Guang chicken. You can have them anytime in Singapore now. Where? They are now conveniently located at Tiong Bahru Plaza. 3 cheers to that~~
Founded at Tai Chung in 1973, Ji Guang Fried Chicken is famous among the locals and tourists to Taiwan.
Here's their Taiwan website: http://www.jgssg.com/
Ji Guang celebrated their opening on 18th Oct this year and offered customers really wonderful offers.
Besides selling fried chicken, they also offered a range of menu such as fried squids and fried mushrooms.
The one for one deal (source: Tiong Bahru Plaza) on their opening day, resulted in a snaking queue.

So I went buying thanks to my friend who informed me last minute. haha. Look- nice packaging~~
I am practically drooling while taking the photos. haha... are you?
The chicken nuggets come in bite-sized pieces, with no bones. Unlike typical chicken cutlet which comes in one large chunk and with the chicken skin attached, health conscious peeps out there will be glad to know that Ji Guang has no/not much fatty oily skin.
Expect just chucky chicken breast meat.
Mixed with 10 over spices, the chicken bites are fried only upon ordering and doesn't go through re-frying. They are then served and sprinkled with a herbal based pepper powder and for a touch of spiciness, chili powder can be added.
Tender, fresh and juicy, you simply can't stop at one bite! Serious.
At first, I was hesitant if the fried chicken will be too salty with the powder flavoring or too oily. Gladly, my worries were unfounded. Ji Guang Xiang Xiang chicken is amazingly tasty, warmly fresh from the fryer and superb delicious!!! You will be polishing off 1 packet in no time.
Plus they smell real good and you can have the 'Xiang Xiang' experience while tucking into the crispy delights.
Head on down for a yummy snack today~~ Enjoy!
Location: Tiong Bahru Plaza Level one, just opposite, facing Toast Box and Mr Bean.
