Break It Up!
LG brings new excitement, this time with modular phones which allows you to 'mix and match'. A brand new experience whereby you can plug and switch different add on modules/accessories for your Play, enhancing on existing capabilities and functions.

Flatlay of LG G5 and all the accessories.

There are pros and cons to this, for sure. The current modules developed by LG are limited for now, though they are hoping more mobile phone players will come in to enhance and provide consumers with more choices to mix and match.
What are the chances? Well, still much in the early stage to predict.

Destruct your phone (literally)
To  do so, click on a left side button and viola, the base comes out along with the striking yellow battery shouting “Life’s good when you Play More”. You can then pull out the battery ( yes pretty nerve-wracking at first) and installed it with another module.  I have the opportunity to try on the LG Cam Plus and the B&O Play Module.

Let's Be Friends!

LG FRIENDS
It can be a blessing for photography lovers but is it really necessary? I leave it to you to decide. The LG Cam Plus provides additional 1200mAh battery power and comes with handy controls for the camera. These additional controls aimed at creating better and faster reactions for shooting or filming and do so with a zoom dial, shutter, video recording and a button to jump in and out of the camera mode quickly.

Pros: Firmer wider grip modeled after camera’s grip does improve stability and ergonomically fits the way we often hold up cameras. The added power extends the total lifespan of the phone’s original 2800mAh to add up to 4000mAh

Cons: the additional bulk adds to the weight and protruding frame of the otherwise sleek phone. It’s harder to store around for sure, especially in the pockets.

B&O stands for Bang & Olufsen Sound and is a renowned player internationally pride for producing quality and exceptional sounds through products that speak volume (literally). LG collaborates with B&O producing Hi-Fi Plus that can be fitted to boost sounds with 32 bit Hi-Fi Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) + Amp. This amplifies greater sounds and hearing enjoyment experiences and can be plugged to any other non-LG devices such as laptops too. On the smartphone, it boosts great audio playback too! I love plugging in this module to play dramas and videos and the audio was clear and heavily bass. Music playback produces even better sound qualities.

LG G5 Conclusion
The phone on its own has some surprises too, varying away from G4.

The greatest buzz comes from the camera with 2 lenses sported at the back - 78deg (16 MP) and 135 deg wide angle (8MP) creates a whole new excitement for photography enthusiasts.
First the camera is a great improvement with the ability now to include wide-angle lens with 8MP. The wide angle lens is beautiful as it captures such wide range details in a single shot, with a slight concavity/fish-eye effect. This is great for landscape and group photos!
In the camera function, there are also new functions such as ‘Pop-up’ creating a frame in frame effect  and things like ‘Snap’ which combines snippets of 3 seconds video clips into a maximum 1 minute film. Creativity for video filming just gets more interesting!

The size at 5.3 inch Quad HD display is slightly smaller than G4's and the exterior boots rounder edges and a 3D Arc glass producing a more concave look than G4’s flat surface. The G5 now flushes flat on the back while G4 spoted a rounded curvature at its behind.

The "always on" screen lets you view time and important notifications at a glance without waking up the phone.

The LG G5 a great phone with fun features packed in with many additional possibilities. But the modulars, in my opinion, are not really a necessary purchase if you don’t wish to.

Photo Snaps
Below are some of the photos shot on by LG G5 on the very same day.

An example of a wide angle shot.

Versus that of a near shot. Have you noticed the range and details the wide angle lens can encompass comparatively?

Selfies are bright and natural. Selfies/front camera mode do not carry wide angle function.

Wide angle lens produce slight concavity on the picture itself.
Can you identify which ones are Wideangle and which are macro shots?

Addictively Amazing
So much so, I snap constantly with the G5 on hand, everywhere. Sharing some of the snapshots taken by G5's front and back camera in Singapore. The wide angle just translates into one thing- you can be very near yet be able to capture a wide spectrum of details.
Enjoy!

Popup Effects in the fun options.
You can change the shape of the inner border and the color tone of the outer border.

Even for food, you can use a wide angle lens for an amazing feel~

Needless to say, WEFIES are great
