Imagine. You are cycling or jogging round the Ang Mo Kio- Bishan Park and feels hungry all of a sudden or simply want to reward yourself with a meal after a hard workout, where is the nearest place to head to? Well , GRUB is the answer.
Almost an irony to have a cafe right smack within the serenity of the lush greeneries where all you should really think about is exercising. However with the floating smells of patties and fries drifting out from the kitchen isn't it slightly hard to concentrate on your running? I marvel at how the residents there did that. Perhaps avoid running past GRUB.
However, if you like me am a foodie and just want to dine in, then GRUB does boost a lovely surrounding among the lush and greens for its location.
Here's the deal
Mentaiko Fries $9.
Mentaiko aioli sauce drizzled and sprinkled with seaweed. Crispy, hot and gone in minutes round the table. 'Nuff said.
Here comes the Mains:
Chicken Steaks $15.
Grilled flavorful chicken tights, served with sauteed mushrooms and refreshing combination with the sweet potato mash definitely adds on a few stars for the sweet-savory paly on the tastebuds. Very nice!
Crispy Fish Burger $14.
Another favouite in GRUB, this is your simple American Fish Burger with the tangy remoulade sauce. The crubmled fish fillet was crispy on the outside and soft fleshy on the inside. The length however, was not as long as seen on their FB. Nonetheless good old taste.
We had 2 desserts:
Bacon Creme Brulee. $7
This actaully is your typical sugare crusted brulee but topped with a hint of savory salty mix with the addition of Bacon. It was something different for us and not too bad a choice.
Churros Oh Churros.
Most folks to GRUB has a pot of Churros on their table and we were sure curious to find out why.
Churros $9 comes with 2 dips- Dark Chocolate and tangy Creme Anglasie. The churros were already very sweetly sugar coated and served crispy. The light anglasie did nothing much for me in enhancing the whole churros experience and I preferred the dark chocolate. Nice dessert to end your dinner.
Located in a prime spot with many housing estates nearby, GRUB can get crowded on weekends. Best to reserve to prevent queueing in line.
If you love a serene walk after your meal, GRUB could be the eatery for you, Enjoy a sunset walk before dinner~
Constantly revamping their menu, I chanced upon their new menu on Facebook. Head on to check out for yourself.
