Crystal Jade Korean Ginseng Chicken & BBQ restaurant celebrates its 10th anniversary at a new prime location with a larger seating capacity and an expanded line up of authentic home-styled Korean food.
Side Dish Set $10.00 for 6 varieties of Korean appetizers per serving.
Try the Spicy Kimchi which uses the restaurant’s unique homemade blend of apples, Korean pears, chilli powder, garlic, ginger, Korean prawn paste, fish sauce, sugar, scallions and radish. The play of sour, spicy and umami taste with each mouthful comes after leaving the fresh cabbage to ferment for 5 days in the fridge. Kimchi is high in fibre yet low in calories and its lactic acid bacteria are said to aid digestion.
All made by Crystal Jade’s team of chefs using traditional methods and secret recipes honed over the years.

The restaurant’s signature dish, Authentic Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup ($28 per serving)
This nourishing treat with whole four-year-old ginseng root, fresh chicken stuffed with glutinous rice, red dates and gingko nuts, is immersed in ginseng water, ginseng and steamed for 1.5 hours before combined with a flavourful chicken soup base and boiled slowly over another 3 hours. Phew, how much work is that?
A favourite for the hot summer season, this wholesome soup is enjoyed in Korean homes as mothers believe that ginseng can help to cool body temperatures, boost energy levels
The preparation time involves many hours in order to fully extract the goodness and flavours of the ingredients.
Stewed Top Grade Beef Short Rib ($29 per serving. Serves 2-4 persons)
Prime Australian beef ribs were braised for several hours with an soy sauce, garlic with an assortment of fruit and vegetables such as radishes, red dates, apples, pears,ginger and ginkgo nuts. The stew is enhanced by simmering over low heat, flavourful with tender chunks of top-grade beef. The gravy was simply awesome and together with the tender beef, was a totally melt-in-your-mouth kind of experience. One more bowl of rice please!
Korean Imperial Hotpot with Assorted Vegetable ($39.00 per serving) serves two to four persons. Personally I thought it was pretty huge for just two person, if you were to order other selections.
It comes with a choice of beef, pork or chicken with a soup stock that has been laboriously made flavourful and naturally milky through hours of slow boiling over a few days. 
Traditionally enjoyed with the family during the winter seasons, this authentic hotpot has been given a contemporary twist with its generous serving of fresh vegetables, making a must-have for a healthy family meal.
Say hi to the fresh pork-belly!
For choice of pork-belly, it complements with the spicy sour kimchi soup base. Ingredients such as silken tofu, golden Enoki mushrooms and straw mushrooms as well as a variety of vegetables such as sweet corn, carrots, cucumbers and black fungus (wood ear) were put together for a colorful combination.
In general, the soup will be in the pot when served, for photography purposes, the soup was added in only after.
This Kimchi pork soup base is made by boiling fresh pork bones and chicken feet in a large pot. salivating already?
Something special was the addition of the Korean Handmade Noodle ($3 per serving) which goes along with the hotpot pretty well! Instead of rice, try noodles.
In fact the noodles were smooth and springy on its own and I believe goes well even with a simple plain soup base. These freshly made noodles by the chefs used high-grade flour specially imported from Korea, makaing a totally wonderful combination with the hotpot.
Dip them in and take them out quick to slurp on.
Once the hotpot starts boiling, it was time to tuck in!!
Crystal Jade Korean Ginseng Chicken & BBQ offers 12 fresh and marinated meat dishes and two combination sets for barbeque. Hot favourites here are top-grade fresh meats such as Prime Wagyu Beef ($49 per serving), Ox Tongue ($25 per serving) and Pork Collar ($22 per serving) along with the Marinated Beef Short Rib ($28 per serving) which marries the top grade beef ribs with the restaurant’s secret homemade marinade.
Here we have the Marinated Australian Prime Beef Ribs grilling on the stove.
The ribs have been lovingly marinated for over 3 hours in a secret recipe involving a thick, special sauce concocted by cooking fresh fruit, ginger, garlic, sugar, chili and soya sauce over low fire slowly for 6 hours.
Of course barbequed meat comes with lettuce wraps and other garnishes.
How about some Ox Tongue? $25.00/per serving
Prized for its fat content, the ox’s tongue is juicy and succulent after it has been lightly barbequed. These are natural in taste without any marination.
Pork Collar $22.00/per serving
Flavourful and tender once it has been barbequed well. My favourite!

After such hearty meal, why not cool down the body with the Double-boiled Snow Pear with “Chuan Bei” and Dried Longan? ( $5.00/per serving )
Simply adore these nourishing and soothing sweet soup. Crystal Jade serves the traditional Chinese version using whole Snow Pears double boiled with “chuan bei” or fritillaria extracts, dried longans and rock sugar. “Chuan bei” is used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat dry coughs.
Somebody serves me a bowl everyday~
Thanks to Crystal Jade, we can now brew our own authentic roasted barley tea at home.
If you remeber Crystal Jade Korean Ginseng Chicken & BBQ's previous location at Taka level 4, you are right, as they have shifted to a new location next to the atrium.

Taking inspiration from the traditional houses or ‘hanok’, the restaurant uses wooden panels and tables along with leather-covered seats for a cool, contemporary yet cosy dining experience.
Smoke-free experience as all the dining tables have grilling stations with vacuum capability on the side of the grills, taking most of the fumes away from the table.

There are intimate booth seats for smaller groups of two to four persons or long tables for six to eight diners. Fancy a semi-private room? This room sits for large groups of up to 10.
