[TECHNOLOGY] REVIEW OF ASUS ZENFONE MAX
First feel of the phone
The Zenfone weighing 202 g (with battery) / 77.5 x 156 x 5.2 ~ 10.55 mm (LxWxH) feels slightly on the heavier side perhaps due to it's material giving rise to the metal-like feel. I do however like the touch of the embossed black leather-like touch to the back cover, which boosts a classy elegant feel.
With a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720) IPS display with full-screen lamination, I would say that the colors and resolutions display on screen are vibrant and bright. Running on Qualcomm® Snapdragon 410 quad-core, the processing is fast when I click on the apps or when surfing the app.
Good news if you require dual SIM, the Zenfone Max also supports expandable memory with MicroSD.
The Zenfone Max comes with all the accessories you would need.

Snap Snap
With everything else, the camera plays an important determinant. Sporting a 5MP selfie front camera 13MP, f2.0 main camera with dual LED flash, I would say I had great expectations for the photos.
The photos turned out to be less vibrant and dark when it comes to taking photos in dimmer lights. The details are there but might require tweaking if you need a bright Instagrammable photo. Also, a big hinderance unfortunately was the speed of the shutter, reported to be 0.03secs but seems to produce a slight lag focusing before the click comes on.
The selfie mode on the other hand works pretty well to produce clear, bright pictures without filtering. If you love to fiddle, there are various PixelMaster Camera Modes which can be quite entertaining as well with modes like Smart Remove, All Smiles etc.
The 5000 mAh Li-Polymer Battery is non-removable but claims a Standby time of 38 days and 3G talk time 37.6hrs. On my outings with the Zenfone with photo takings, it managed to last me throughout the day.
