[Food Review] Gordon Ramsay's Bread Street Kitchen in Singapore (Marina Bay Sands)

by - Wednesday, November 11, 2015

Gordon Ramsay's first outlet of Bread Street Kitchen hits Singapore in June this year, right smacked in the Marina Bay Sands. Brightly filled in by sunshine in the day, the full framed window seats beckon your attention once you stepped into the otherwise warm and dimly-lit restaurant. Anyway, who wouldn't want to admire such a gorgeous view overlooking  promenade while indulging in affordable British fares.
My sweetie ger brought me in for a treat on my birthday, imagine my happiness! :P thanks ger if you are reading this.

Tamarind-spiced chicken wings with spring onions ($18).
Pushed as one of the restaurant's speciality, tamarind spice brings a well marinated level of savory 'shiokness'. The 3 wings and 3 drumlets came in hot and was crisply battered on the outside. Definitely an enjoyable  chicken indulgence.

Prior to the starters, every table will be served with a complimentary bread bowl full of nibbles. The breads were crisp and soft and much recommended to munch in, though you might want to save your stomach with the mains later. No regrets, accompliement with the salty butter spread for some flavoring.

Here were the mains.

Sea bass fillet carpaccio ($21)
Seriously I am a fish lover and could not say no to this dish, Sea bass lightly grilled and stuffed with sliced braised leeks, razor clam, samphire, shellfish as accompaniments to the sea bass.

A flavorful burst of fresh sweetness, and all things very nice.

The much raved Fish and Chips ($26).
So we tried and conquered. The fish was fresh and juicy with a crispy batter and served with Crushed Peas and Tartar Sauce. Fries were nicely done~

It's fleshy and juicy but a tad oily.

Totally enjoyed our times there, lazing and enjoying good food by the scenic Fullerton.

The portions served at Bread Street Kitchen were modest akin to what you would expect from any fine dining but thankfully still sufficiently satisfying and filling. Just enough to satisfy your sensory and physical well being. The pricing may be on the steep side, but if you love a luxurious, comfy setting then this is the place to be for a cosy gathering or dining.
