[Art Exhibition] Leonardo da Vinci's Earlier Mona Lisa in Singapore @The Art House Singapore
Did you visit the Earlier Mona Lisa exhibit earlier on this year? I am sorry I took so long to blog about it and I hope you have been there personally. Because if you are an art lover, especially if you are fascinated with everything Renaissance- like me, this had got to be the best and most collective dedication to the debate about Mona Lisa ever.
Earlier Mona Lisa made its debut World Premium in Singapore at The Art House on the 16 Dec 2014 till 11 Feb 2015.
The exhibit really left me "shaken" by the end of the journey. I was awestruck and came with a new realization as we debated and marvelled over all the research and scientific works done for the past decades on the journey towards the discovery of an 'Earlier Mona Lisa'.
Indeed, we were so fascinated by all the proven, scientific evidence no one can dispute the fact that an 'Earlier Mona Lisa' by Leonardo da Vinci exists.

But first, an #OOTD.

Didn't take much photos as we really want to immerse and appreciate the exhibition. And immersed we did.
Nearing the end of the exhibit, it was a GREAT Gigantic Surprise to come Face to Face with the 'Earlier Mona Lisa'! We were like O.M.G. Wasn't expecting to see the painting. At All.
This is NOT a replica. I repeat.
So there it was, framed and displayed in front of visitors.
Going by the title 'Earlier Mona Lisa', this painting has spent the past 4 decades in a Swiss bank valut. From time to time, it has undergone examinations and tests. However it was only in 2012, that The 'Earlier Mona Lisa' came into the spotlight during an international press conference in Geneva, Switzerland in September of 2012, sparking enormous worldwide interest in the painting.
So thankful for this revelation and that I had been able to witness this new piece of history in my lifetime.
With all the scientific testings and documents supporting the painting's attribution, this precious has finally been credited officially as a creation by Leonardo da Vinci, 10 years before the Louvre version. Visitors witnessed all the studies and documentations throughout this exhibition on the proof.
The 'Earlier Mona Lisa' is actually very much smaller and has many subtle characteristics different from the Louvre version. Yet there are just as much more traces of Leonardo's style in it- proven through maths, sciences. Facts which were presented to visitors that kept us on our tip-toes.
I am not able to represent all these facts but if you are really keen, 'Earlier Mona Lisa' has published a detailed catalogue of the exhibit and you can purchase the copy. Link below.
Seeing is believing and we were humbled. At least we have seen Mona Lisa once in our lifetime and without the huge crowds scrambling to take photos with unlike at the Lourve in Paris.
I felt like an investigator throughout and part of the excitement comes from my "guide".
Yes this tablet became my best friend throughout, providing all the interactive elements and notes.
It was a pity there wasn't much publicity for this well curated exhibit, more people should definitely come to know and be educated on the truth- there is indeed another version by Leonardo da Vinci that supersedes the Mona Lisa version at the Louvre.
There is a Collection option on the website where the exhibition catalogue is but that page is not loading. Try contacting them on FB page
