[Media Invite] “Gelato with a Heart” Dinner and Gelato World Tour in Singapore from March 20 to 22 2015

If you have seen my IG feeds, I hope you know that the Gelato World Tour is happening right now from March 20 to 22. In conjunction with this tour, the organizers have put together a special dinner, “Gelato with a Heart” on March 12, 2015 and I was honored to be invited for this delightful affair.

As another first for the Singapore leg of the tour, gelato once again takes centrestage from appetizer to dessert. Created by well-known Chef Christopher Christie of Marina Bay Sands and Pastry Chef Pang Kok Keong, in collaboration with the local Italian instructor of the Carpigiani Gelato University, the Gelato with a Heart” menu featured combinations of hot and cold, sweet and savoury, unique fusions of the East and West masterpieces. 
The dinner also included an auction where proceeds will be donated to beneficiaries of the Singapore President's Challenge 2015. 
Thank You for taking care of the Singapore charities as well.

Here's the brilliant, lovely menu for the Gelato Dinner we had that night: 

1. Chili Crab Cocktail - Lump Crab & Snow Egg White Ravioli, Coriander Film paired with Lemongrass & Kaffir Lime Leaf Gelato


2. Soya Braised Wagyu Beef Cheek and Seared Cod with Nonya Vinaigrette, Roasted Cauliflower Puree and Fava Beans paired with Calamansi and Candied Ginger Gelato


And the Salmon version...

3. Grand Marnier Marinated Strawberries, Balsamic Vinegar, Pink Peppercorns and Sesame Tuille paired with Goat Cheese Gelato


4. Kaya Toast
Pandan and Coconut Gelato with buttered bread rusk, peanut nougatine and salted gula melaka cream.


5. And... Ending the meal with coffee +  gelato = Heaven





Thank You to The Rainmaker and the Gelato World Tour for the invite to the charity dinner. It was my honor and such and unforgettable experience. Each of the mains we had were out of this world and really a play on my tastebuds. Tastes that were unfamiliar yet a surprising blissful play on our senses. Such were the wonderful creations by the master chefs.

After taking Europe, North America by storm, the much-anticipated international Gelato World Tour,will be the first of its kind to be held in Asia. Singapore's proud to be the official host for this event and all these exciting events will be happening  March 20 to 22, 2015 at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre.

The event aims to bring the fine art of gelato making culture to the Singapore and Asia-Pacific countries. Visitors to the Gelato World Tour will enjoy lessons and workshops and they will witness the competition involving the final selection of 16 flavours from Singapore and the Asia-Pacific countries!

The competition really is the essence of the Gelato World Tour. the three winning flavours from Singapore, will join the world’s best flavours from the various competitions held during the 2015-2017 edition of this international tour. Be spoilt for choice by the range of gelato available, made fresh and right before your very eyes. 
Admission to the event will be free for the public.
