[Media Invite] Tai Lei Loi Kei 澳门大利来记猪扒包 opens in Singapore (NEX Shopping Mall, Serangoon)

by - Friday, March 20, 2015

Happy to drop by Tai Lei Loi Kei's (TLLK) first Singapore branch!
Yes make no mistake, this is the same famous Pork Chop Bun outlet in Macau and the 3 bosses in Singapore ( 1 Singaporean, 1 Malaysian, 1 Hong Konger) are definitely very passionate in bringing only the best in terms of quality, taste and value for Singapore customers.

As a franchisee, you might be thinking that perhaps the standard might not match up to the Macau's original store. I can definitely assure you that the chefs ( 1 of the whom is the boss) has definitely been well trained by the master franchiser in Macau and are always on the ball to serve only the best.
We met with one them- Andy and had a great chat. It was definitely not easy to start out in the F&B industry all green and clueless but these guys have been hardworking and very much hands-on, not just doing the glamorous side of the business. Armed with strong perseverance to bring on a better TLLK in Singapore for all.
They welcome feedbacks, so please do not hesitate to approach any of their staff.
When we patronized in Feb this year, I saw many aunties/uncles employed and am very glad that TLLK Sg supports seniors employment.

Alright, enough talk, let's go on to the food!

The Signature Pork Chop Bun $6.90. Ala Carte.
The spices in Macau's are heavier and overall saltier. However, the Singapore's version has all these fine tuned to the local taste buds while retaining the aroma of the Pork Chop Bun. Healthier version in a way.

You might have noticed that Singapore's version of the pork chop is a meat patty with no bones. This is not the same as Macau's simply to make the dining experience an easier one here. How lucky.
The presence of the bones in fact were a "certification" to indicate that TLLK Macau uses purely prime Pork rib meat with no other mixture into the patty.
Removal of the bones however does not compromise the kind of pork used - Premium Brazilian Pork Chop. These pork chops do not contain much fat and when deep-fried become super crunchy. Tempted yet?
Home-made marinaded sauce has been hand down from two generations and still remains TLLK's best-kept secret, giving rise to the flavorful pork chop buns that we are enjoying today!
Eat it fast while hot!
The meat patty was tender and flavorful adding much Shiok-ness.

Macau Curry Fish Ball $4.90.
Settle your craving for this roadside snack here. They have toned down the spiciness passed down from Macau, but we thought it was a bit too mild. We had feedback to them. Let me know if the spicy level has gone up in due time?

Bouncy Noodles with Fishball $6.90
Bouncy Noodles with Porkchop $7.90
For something oriental and filling, get yourself some noodles with the bouncy fishballs and tender pork chops.

Fun facts: Macau's noodles uses duck eggs while Singapore's noodles use chicken eggs. The noodles are all made and customized in Singapore.

Macau Chicken Wing (5pcs) $5.90
Char-grilled.

For the buns, choose between normal bread or polo bun.
The All Day Breakfast aka Supreme Burger Set $5.90, comes with a drink.

Comes with 4 fillings- Ham, Luncheon Meat, Cheese and Egg. A filling yummy breakfast on-the-go.

End your meal sweet with desserts. Sawdust Cake $3.50 and the newly launched- Oreo Cake.
Sawdust are actually not "SAWDUST" but rather, digestive biscuits crushed and smashed. These handmade cakes require steady hands to layer nicely between the cream and toppings.

Student Specials available for $5 per set from 2-5pm = Savings.

The humble bosses have always been making improvements ever since their opening in Dec last year. In terms of interior, it's a cozy setting and they are trying to jazz up something along the line soon.

TLLK Sg is located at B2 of NEX Shopping Mall, just besides 7-11 and plastered on the huge pillars. Look out for that.
