[ Cafe Hopping in Singapore] Shooting Cats with The Photography Academy ( The Cat Cafe, Bugis)

by - Tuesday, February 03, 2015

Thanks to The Photography Academy (TPASG) for the invite to their first ever Cat Photography workshop. It was a wonderful and precious experience for me as I got to learn some great photography tips from trainer Irene Kuok (Chief Photographer of Cloud Productions). Shooting cats was a first for me and I totally enjoyed myself during this 2 hours workshop.

So who are the people behind TPASG? Making up of award-winning and full-time professional photographers and coaches with more than 5 to 10 years of experience in the trade in Singapore, This group was created simply to spread the joy and techniques of photography to the public. How so? Through Workshops and Photowalks, the latter of which mostly are free of charge!

The Photography Academy (TPASG) aspires to nurture and improve the professional standings and values of current and aspiring photographers, giving them an edge in the industry and profession.

For a list of  their upcoming events such as photography courses and many more creative and fun photographic excursions, head on to their FB and event calendar to register yourself and get to know some like-minded friends!  https://www.facebook.com/thephotographyacademy/events

I really love the informal and practical approach from which classes were conducted. Fret not about having to sit through 1 hour of lecture. Information are dispensed every 15 mins or so after every rounds of practicals. There are lots of flexibility for you to put your photography skills into practice. Irene was also very engaging in involving all the participants. Feel free to ask anytime if you have any questions at all.

Without further delays, here are some of the photos I had fun shooting on that very day. Thanks to TPASG and the Sg Cat Cafe for hosting us.

WELCOME!
Mass Breakfast for the kitties before opening. Early kitties are full of vibrancy.

Elegant Descent.

Here's Irene in Blue Jacket giving us photography tips.

Thereafter we went back to "work".

Kitty Waiting.

' What you talking about !?!'

Hi kittie!!:)

Let's Play!

Sleepy head,

Just lazing around.

All the very excited participants of the workshop hard at work, sprawled in all positions.  ^^

Whatcha looking at?

'We are a combination of perfect harmony.'

Cat in the box.

'Feel the power of my STARE.'

Humans trying to capture the kitties everywhere.

Here's a peek into the interior of The Cat Cafe.

LOOK UP, Target locked, Focused.

GOTTCHA!!!

'Can I help you?'

Sleeping in peace, this cutie.

Mastering the perfect skill of balancing on 2 ledges...

... while dozing off.

Too peaceful, time to sleep.

It was really hard to take a selfie with the cats as I could not predict their reactions. Think it's better off to just shoot them on their own.

' Hmmm...????'

Tired from playing? The Cat Cafe also serves snacks, drinks and mains. Dine with the kitties and just be careful they don't come stealing your food. :)
