Along the main streets of River Valley Road, it's real easy to miss Five & Dime. With it's identical architecture along the main road, right at the corner, you can simply pass by without noticing.
Hint* Look out for a standalone white building at the corner

Step inside and you will be welcome by a New York Vibe. On a late weekend afternoon, it was pretty crowded but seating was relatively fast.

Love not just the vibe but the menu selections. Here's the order.

 Mentaiko pasta $18.

Tastefully mixed with Mentakio cream sauce and topped with a scoop of cod fish roe, this sweet salty combination is a winner and a favourite among customers, sprinkled with bits of seaweed to add on to the plating. 

We love the pasta for it's light and all round aromatic flavor. Wish there were some other ingredients/sides to go along with the dish though, it was really a bit too plain. 

 Eggs Benny $18

Golden Custard Lava Cake $12

Molten lava chocolate cake, warm and crisp on the outside, comes not with a chocolate molten core but rather, salted egg yolk custard!

This not-so-conventional piece is an awesome sensory experience for the tastebuds. Saltiness embraced with sweetness. Thumbs up.

 Milo Panna cotta $8

Panna Cotta- a kind of Italian dessert made from egg white and thick cream. Similar in texture to a pudding in my opinion. Light but not too overwhelmingly sweet sprinkled with Milo powder and condensed milk.
