[Cafe Hopping in Phonm Penh,Cambodia] Cross Town Cafe

by - Sunday, February 16, 2014

We came across this cafe on a magazine and decided to head on to have some Japanese cuisine in Cambodia. When we last visited, the cafe had just only opened months ago and was relatively new. Located not around the city centre or along the riverside, this area is totally new to us and surprisingly there are many eateries located along the same streets as well.

Patrons will be welcomed by the warm country-style setup of the cafe.

This is the 1st level.

We went up to the 2nd level, served by very attentive and polite staff.

Teppanyaki chicken on hotplate, sizzling hot and served with japanese rice.
Taste? Not too bad, quite ordinary but still decent enough.

I had their speciality- Japanese Curry with Chicken cutlet. Love the curry!! Thick and bubbling hot, served with rice and mixed vegetables, makes a hearty meal.

Each set comes served with a mini salad and tamago.

Dessert time!!

We ordered a japanese Mango roll cake. Looks attractive but too much cream and... we don't really like white cream so... otherwise tasted quite ordinary.

As we were very hot indeed from the blasting weather outdoors, the very attentive staff kept on re-filling our water once we ran out of them :) Great service.

The cafe also sells in-house merchandises... for example this cute t-shirt :)

Other restaurants along the street include a Korean restaurant?! First time I saw a Korean restaurant in Phnom Penh.

With its relaxing atmosphere and FREE wifi once again, this is a cool place to chill and relax. If you are game enough, head on out of the main city area. Their location is just a short distance away from the happening areas of the city.
