[Makan Time] Dining at Hummerstons

by - Wednesday, December 04, 2013

Along the way to Robertson Walk, went strolling around the Mohamed Sultan Road area.

Spotted lovely colorful shophouses dotting along the streets...

So here we are at Hummerstons upon a friend's recommendation.

It might be hard to spot them but they are located within the Robertson Walk, 2nd level. I am standing where the restaurant is and this is the facing view. Similarly you just have to walk up those stairs and since it's all connected anyway, walk one whole round if you can't find them.

Interior wise- Hummerstons' quite cozy and comfortable. Wasn't too packed when we were there on a Saturday evening for dinner so predicting walk-ins will be fine as well.

There is also a bar counter and an open-concept kitchen whereby you can see some actions going on if you are seated within view.

Quite spacious actually

Here comes our order!

Box fries- thick-cut fries mixed with different spices $14. Love this fries~~crispy and packed with potato goodness. 2 sauces came along with it. Nice display in a little wooden box.

Soba Salmon $27- mixed with Mango, Chili, herbs, mesclun, sesame lime-vinaigrette, eggplant-sambal.
I lovvve this refreshing combination- Soba with Salmon??!! haha wonderfully tasty. Thumbs-up.
Serving a reasonably thick-cut piece of salmon, pan-fried till slightly crispy and topped up with sambal sauce, plus, lots of greens at the side makes it a pleasant fusion delight~~ and filing indeed. Worth the price I say.

Sesame Epi Crusted Cod $32 served with creamy potatoes, soy-ginger garlic butter, tomato-shallot and green chili lime salad. The cod tasted fresh and flavorful enough. This wasn't my dish so I only tried some but my friend said it was good!

Overall, good atmosphere, wonderful food and they serve wine as well. If you are in the vicinity, might want to consider giving Hummerstons a try.
