[Food Review] Two Blur Guys @Boat Quay

by - Tuesday, December 24, 2013

If you are working or living round Tanjong Pagar area, I am pretty sure you would have heard of Two Blur Guys. They are basically your burger joint fix in the CBD area and enjoy brisk business since their opening 1 year ago. Max, the co-founder revealed that Funan Mall was actually their first choice location for consideration before they finally settled in Tanjong Pagar. More about their story later.

We were very happy to have the chance to go over to Two Blur Guys' latest branch in Boat Quay for a food tasting session.

Looking around the interior of the burger bar, this eatery is definitely much more spacious as compared to their first outlet in Tanjong Pagar. If you are hosting a group of friends, consider going to their Boat Quay brunch for a more cosy affair.

Of course, there is a bar counter that serves beers and alcoholic drinks since we are in Boat Quay which is basically a pub area.

We met up with one of the co-founders for Two Blur Guys- Max, who told us the concept behind this burger bar. In case you are wondering, Two Blur Guys is a local Singaporean brand, nothing American related.

Max told us that he and another friend set up this place as a venture into the F&B industry. Totally clueless about cooking, they were fortunate enough to the acquainted with Chef Jimmy Chok, who used to be from Bistro Soori. Chef Jimmy was the consultant who drew up part of the menu and helmed the kitchen for 2 Blur Guys a few months into its opening 1 yr ago.

To our amusement, Max also revealed that their menu was only settled 3 days before their first store opening- very adept to their brand name, no? Blur. :)
Max mentioned the process leading up to the opening was really quite a blur as everything happened too fast. We can definitely understand that.
The founders are indeed reflective of their brand name. In a jolly good way of course.

Okay anyway, cut to the chase, it's time to tuck into the delicious burgers!!!!
With me are Hazel and Ling.

We were served the best sellers from their Menu.
Looks deliciously appetizing right??

First up is the Prime Beef with Portobello. $21
We had our 100% pure US beef cooked in medium rare and it was tender without being overcooked. Together with the grilled balsamic mushrooms, truffle mayonnaise and gruyere cheese sandwiched in between, it was juiciness overflowing.

Next we have the Pulled Pork Burger, which is my super duper favourite of all. Tasty and not too salty, the barbeque marinated pork, gruyere cheese and honey mustard made a perfect sweet melting combination.
Yummy goodness. $15.

Truffle Fries needs no introduction~
But anyway it's Parmesan Cheese served with truffle mayonnaise. $9.

Looking for something different? You might want to consider the Smoked Salmon Burger. We love this burger for the fresh salmon topped with avocado salsa. Though light but the burger is flavorful enough and refreshingly delicious. Of course, I adore salmon and so this is totally My style. $18.

Last but not least, Prime Beef with Streaky Bacon. Mouthwatering prime beef patty stuffed with streaky bacon, truffle mayonnaise and gruyere cheese. $21
All Burgers or Blur-gers, as they call them, come served with salad and fries.

We totally enjoyed this dining session and special thanks to Two Blur Guys and SD for the invitation.

Two Blur Guys are now serving in 2 branches with a 3rd one coming up soon in The Esplanade! Keep a look out for this local burger joint.
