[Food review] Jamie's Italian is in Singapore!

by - Saturday, September 21, 2013

Months ago, saw this at the entrance of Jamie's and finally got the chance to dine in few weeks back~~ yea! :)

My first experience with Jamie's Italian was simply excellent and makes me crave for more!
Service was brilliant, food was thumbs up, I simply left the place a happier person altogether.

It seems that each waiter is each charge of a certain part of the restaurant, from what we observed.  The waiter will attend to his/her specific zones and so when customers orders, the particular waiter will pay full attention to them.

We saw Polenta Chips orders around us so thought this must be good.  Not disappointing indeed! Potato cubes (rather than chips) fried with Rosemary and Parmesen leaves a lingering fragrance in your mouth after you savour on them. $7.50. It tasted somewhat different from fries or curry potato, I guess it has to do with the spices' combination.

Before ordering we were briefed on the specialities for the day, given recommendations and I really enjoyed this very personalized service. Love it for the fact that despite being a mid-price dining place, customers get to enjoy top class services which really adds on to the whole experience.

One of their specials on that day- The Velvety Pumkin Ponzerotti $26.50. I love love love this. A mixture of ricotta (pasta) cooked with parmesan, chilli, sage and crunchy Aneretti. The Pumpkin sauce was awesome and the portion was just nice to be shared with friends, not too huge but just nice.

Crispy Stuffed Risotto Balls $11.50. As the name suggests these 3 balls are filled with Italy Alaps subraban rice, deep fried with smoked mozzarella and porcini arancini. Very yummy. Once again the attentive waiter provided us detail explanations about this dish's ingredients and specialities and that's how we as customers can be more aware and to appreciate each dish better.

Stuffings inside the balls

Tender and smooth chicken that were allowed to run freely ( so we were told), topped with tomato paste. This dish was a joy to savour. $28.

Dessert time! Chocolate and Vin Santo pot $12.50. This was rather normal for my taste, with biscotti and ice cream.

Some interior of the Jamie's Italian... this is the open kitchen whereby customers sitting at the counter will be able to see the chefs at work.

I was seated at the kitchen counter so I can really see everything going on at the open kitchen.

I strongly recommend you to give it at try at Jamie's. Happy weekend!
