SARNIES (TELOK AYER) — AUSSIE FUSS-FREE CAFE

Dine In, Aussie Style
Sarnies, a lively Aussie-style cafe in the heart of the CBD, is celebrating its sixth year anniversary with a hearty new dinner menu packed with rustic flavors punch. This watering hole located along Telok Ayer street, is definitely worth checking out for at your next company dinner. Expect homely handmade ingredients made from scratch with the finest, quality ingredients as is the norm in Australia restaurants. We also met with Sarnies' head chef, Chef Zack and was told that even the burger buns were made, kneaded and baked in-house daily. Thumbs up for the effort.

Here's what you can look out for under the starters aka 'Small Stuff' on the menu

Grilled Haloumi Sliders with Onion Jam & Roasted Cherry Tomatoes
( $13 comes in a trio, but we had 4 as there were 4 of us)
This is the favourite among the 3 starters we had. These vegetarian mini burgers have the ingredients as stated above but what made them flavorful were the Haloumi cheese.
Putting in layman's term, Haloumi cheese is a mix of goat and sheep/cow's milk. Not to worry however because there is no strong pungent goat taste.
Rather, I loved the abundance of sweet onion and cabbage  which made it really a pleasure to tuck in.

Taco with Pulled Pork, Chili, Coriander, lime and Red Cabbage
( $8 per piece or $22 for a trio)
The pulled pork was unfortunately too heavily seasoned and overpowering for our liking.
We  would have taken to it better is the flavorings were mellowed down.

 Spicy Buffalo Wings
$14
Expect hotness from these little wings.
The spiciness was on point. However we would prefer, once again, if they were not as heavily flavored to suit more of Singaporeans' mellowed taste buds.

More mains to follow!

Hand Cut Pappardelle with Prawns, Coconut milk, Curry leaves
$19.50
This Southern Indian inspired style pasta was a surprise sensory experience for our taste buds. The pasta is lovingly made by hand, cooked al dente to order and coated in creamy curry sauce.
An acquired taste indeed!

Texas Style Burger with Overnight Smoked Brisket, Homemade BBQ Sauce & Wedges
$26.50
This towering burger surely looks drool-worthy enough. The beef brisket was smoked till tender. The creamy coleslaw sandwiched in between actually offered quite a good mix to the savoury mix.
Makes a good plate for sharing!

Churros with Chocolate & Salted Caramel Dip
$10
To end things on a sweet note, churros was what we had. Well no one could really go wrong with these sugar-coated deep fried doughsticks right?
Happy and glee with the sweets.

This new dinner menu will be available Monday to Fridays from 6pm onwards.
