[Part 1] Being a Colourist with Dulux Singapore
Colors, they are everywhere. You are bombarded by colors every seconds of your life. Just like how we match colors in our daily wear and accessories, your home color has an impact on your family's wellbeing and state of mind too.
Do you however, know how different colors can impact your mood and feelings? Dulux now hopes to inspire colors via a bigger concept. Yes through your living space. How do you personalized your house so that it's not merely a street address but a home where life happens?
Colors to your home thus plays an important role. The ideal home/bedroom must reflect your personality and character. fill up with things you love makes a house your home. That's what I hope to create at the end of my journey with Dulux Singapore.
For the next few weeks, I will be embarking on an amazing transformation service with Dulux Singapore for my room and I hope you will join me too in this experience.

How to create Colour
Harmony?
The basic formulas for creating harmony are described and illustrated on the designer’s colour wheel.
Using the wheel is easy as all the possible complimentary combinations are indicated on the wheel.

1. Monochromatic harmony uses various values (tints,
tones, and shades) within the same colour family.

2. Analogous harmonies are based on three or
more colours that sit side-by-side on the colour wheel.

3. Complementary colours (or Direct Complementary)
are those that appear opposite each other on the colour wheel.

4.Split complementary colour arrangement results from one
colour paired with two colours on either side of the original colour’s direct
complement creating a scheme containing three colours.

5. Triadic colors are three colours equally
spaced from one another, creating an equilateral triangle on the colour wheel.

Okay!! Enough of therory and time to get hands-on!!!
I have in the search of creating color themes for my bedroom, 3 mood boards and here they are:
1. The Scandinavian's clean simple lines are always attractive
2. Pastels- everything sweet, bright and chirpy.
3.Classic- Nobody can go wrong with the down-to-earth shades .
So which theme do you think I will.should choose? Follow me for the next few weeks to reveal!
1 Week before creating these boards, I learnt from the Dulux professionals on colors, colors matching and the introduction to their different product series. We had a fun workshop at Artistique with hands-on painting to unleash our creativity.

My bedroom now is in a shade of light green which is always calming, tranquil and boots memories. Only took this side of the room because the other side is a bit messy. Opps. :)
The last time the room had a painting was 4/5 years ago by my dad and because I had always dislike the heavy thinner smell of the paint, I had no wish to have it repainted ever since.
