Korean Fusion
I had seen so many gorgeous instagrams of the food served at Joo Bar, it was certainly tempting for a personal visit. They are opened only after 530pm so it can be a bit hard if you wanna find a slot to go in for lunch.
So how did the food go?
Read on.

Dak Kang Jung
$18
Chicken tenders glazed with gochujung ( spicy sweet sacue), honey, garlic and chopped nuts.
Great bites perhaps with makegeolli and beer. Was nice, but didn't really wow us.

Seafood Rappoki
$22
I had high hopes for Seafood Rappoki. Having seen so much raves about this seemingly melty cheese ricecake pot. Alas, We it arrived and we had a taste, it didn;t gave us the WOW factor. In fact the chesse was hard ( too hard) and the pot turned cold quickly. It was a interesting fusion mix— east with west. But the ingredients were just rather bland and plain together? The only binding taste was the cheese.
Shrimp, clams, mussles, squid, morzarella and toppoki and ramyeon,

Home Brewed Organic Makgeolli
$15 Small ( $10 during Happy Hours)

Overall, we didn't felt the Korean fusion was delivered on point. Nice concept an all. The bar was pretty cool with a bar counter at level 1 and dining areas on 2nd and 3rd levels. However we prefered other Korean establishments should we really want to have Korean cuisine.
Moreover, the place was really noisy with conversations bouncing off everywhere and it could be hard if you are there for serious chit-chats.
What's more, they also restricted us to leave by 1.5hrs or so... ( if I remembered correctly) because out seats were reserved.
In actual fact, we sat past the stipulated timing and the surrounding seats were vacant.
What's up with the restrictions?
