I interrupt the travelogues with yummy eats to recommend today~

O'Hail the Potatoes!
Having seen so many IG posts on this photogenic lilacs display of the purple potato Ice Cream, we decided to try it for ourselves. Newly opened in Square 2 some months ago, link-able from Novena MRT station, you can spot them right at the end of the basement's food plaza.
This Hong Kong franchise definitely offers dinners with more on the plate

Small What?
Do not be mislead by its name. Rather, the 'sweet potato' in question really is simply Japanese purple yam, as per below.
As you know, or not know, purple yam is similar in nutrients to its sweet potato cousins, enriched with plenty of Vitamin A, C, magnesium, folate and iron and much more.  The lovely lady boss mentioned that the preparation of each cup of this goodness is totally natural purple potato mash with NO SUGAR and preservatives added.
For ladies,we can tuck in happily after knowing such natural sweet indulgence has the purest form retained.

Japanese Purple Yam Ice Cream with Purple Yam Paste Dorayaki
$7.80
Consisting of Japanese potato, crispy rice, Japanese purple potato paste, azuki beans. The preparation involves Hokkaido Milk blended in with the Japanese potato paste to product the smooth, velvety, ice cream-like texture. Next came the toppings which varies accordingly ( see menu below)
Conclusion: What really entice me was the marshy-creamy taste as the ice cream melts in your mouth and slides down enveloping a really delish natural sweetness of the sweet yam. It was if I was eating the actual Japanese potato as a whole.
Not overly sweetness was also a plus factor and this settles for quite a good meal on its own if you consume this as a per pax portion.  It's REALLY YUMMY minus the slightly pricetag for a small cup. If however, quality is what you are looking for, I would say this is it.
Toppings were generously added too, not too s

Choose your Choice
There are many other flavors to choose from and though the name of each selection is a tiny-wee long and hard to comprehend on the difference between each variance really, but the friendly staff will be there to help should you need explanations.  =)

Layout
The whole layout is that of a kiosk really, with only a bar-top table at the side with limited number of standing/ sitting customers. Otherwise, the shopfront is really normal and nothing to shout about. short of the adorable Purple Potato mascot.
It's really a dine-and-shoo kind of a place.
Fuss free.
