[MEDIA PREVIEW] ENGINEER FOR A DAY: ROBOT KITTY SINGAPORE IS HERE THIS JUNE!
Welcome to the Robot Kitty Singapore!
For the engineers in you, Hello Kitty is no longer the sweet pinky cat as she puts on a new role and you, humans, are/ will be the creators to engineer the Kitty of your choice.
Starting from last weekend 11 till 21 June and happening at Suntec Singapore Convention Hall Exhibition Centre, Hall 403, now it's still not too late to catch the exclusive exhibit before it's gone. Makes the perfect place to bring your kids to this June holidays right?
Meet Yuko Yamaguchi
Come 20 June (Monday), the creator and designer of Hello Kitty, Ms Yuko Yamaguchi will be grcing Robot Kitty Singapore ( Yes, scream!) for 2 exclusive autograph sessions! Unfortunately the 60 slots have since been snapped up. BUT, you can still come down to catch a glimpse of this talented lady as she meets fans!
If you can't make it for the fan meet, then take photos with the adorable setups and props around the venue like what I did.
Let's start!
Before you enter, the missy will brief on engineers on your kitty journey, unfortunately the briefing was not done well, perhaps she was nervous as we were the first media batch but we couldn't really understood what was said and felt there should have been more background storyline briefed to the visitors on the concept of the whole event.
Reception
Anyways, this is the place where you can purchase your Robot K or get hold of the Gaming Card if you don't wish to make further purchase.
Here is the adorable Robot K, which of course it's more ofa collectors item for the Hello Kitty fans. Thanks to dearie Elgena, who bough the Kitty Robot K, I managed to sneak grab some shots with this exclusive cutie.
If you dont wish to purchase, this is the Gaming Card you will receive.
But... To Buy or Not to Buy?
Coming to the event, I am sure you are curious as to how the whole flow goes.
So firstly at the door, you have to purchase admission tickets ( Psst: Groupon is having some discounted tickets sales):
Adult: $28
Child/Senior Citizen: $14
With the basic admission tickets, you get to off course enter and play at the game stations, take photos etc. and will be entitled to a GAMING CARD ( as I have shown above)
This GAMING CARD DOES NOT allow you to:
1. Accumulate Kcoins (points which are needed for redemption of accessories)
2. Redeem parts/accessories to dress up -Robot K only
3. Recharge ( this applies for Robot K when you want to top up credits to replay at the stations.)
All these 3 conditions will be vice versa if you purchase the Robot K, sold separately at $38 and if you are lucky capable enough to earn at least 200 'Kcoins', then congrats you can redeem accessories for the doll ( more on that later).
So in case you are wondering, each Robot K only, unfortunately, allows you 1 chance at each station. Thus the need for you to recharge by topping up money if you wish to reattempt at any.
My Advice: If you don't really feel the need to collect the doll, then it's not necessary to purchase Robot K. You can purchase merchandise at the Merchandise booth later

After which there will be plenty of photo opportunities around.
Look who we met.
By the way: SRI stands for Sanrio Research Institute, which you will see plenty in the exhibit.
The body parts of Kitty. Phew... endless.
5 interactive and engaging stations:
Quality Control ( QC. Rings a bell?)
it's quite silly hahaha but we are here to embrace our inner child within, so game on. What we have to do is basically wave till the defective kitty appears and hit on the defective one within the time frame. This game is fairly easy.
With Keroppi looking down at you, you better make sure your quality is in control
Swing Swing
Components Department
This is pretty fun and the station I score best in *clap clap*
Just see and *cut* with your controller and pedler.
Mokichi is the HOD here. Can you spot him in this photo?
Design Department
This is the HARDEST game which I totally suck at and Elgena did very well in :)
Using the controller, you gotta align the floating components together on the Kitty. Challenge: When you want to shift to the left, the action does not equate aka you gotta shift or rotate the controller in some other directions.
Yes, it's complicated. But I am sure you can do it just fine, who knows?
I have gone mad trying to align everything =D
The controller in the shape of the Kitty Ribon is cute.
Repair Department
Please save Kitty!
Yes put your AED skills into practice here.
Charge by shaking the "AED" till done and then pressed on the lighted up body parts.
Yes my hands got jumbled doing so many actions but it was good fun!!
This is how you charge till it reaches the Red portion.
The injured kitty.
Lastly, Energy Department
This is the place that makes or breaks your points. It's very simple, you just have to tap those 2 buttons within a time frame. Thereafter the jackpot appears and just pray you don't get 'x0.5' because that means your points throughout the stations accumulated turns into HALF! BUMMER
However if you get the top reward 'x5 Kcoins' then congrats!!
Redeem Your Points ( For Robot K Only)
I know you wouldn't want to miss out the official merchandises that's only available onsite.
PSST: I have a giveaway for you! Will be announcing on my Instagram. Watch out.
