[Cafe Hopping in Singapore] Tian Kee & Co (Dakota Crescent)

by - Monday, September 14, 2015

It was my first time in the Dakota estates and thankfully because of Tian Kee and Co, we were out in the area to explore. Nested among the serene and tranquil older estate is an unassuming cafe famous for it's rustic and nostalgic ambience.

The facade of the old provision shop, which goes by the same name- Tian Kee and Co., has parts and parcels of the old reminisce such as the signboard and window grills etc.

Retaining the old charms of the previous occupant, there are no air-cons in the cafe, only the whizzing of the ceiling fans to be felt.  Environmentally friendly won't you say?  Though the food pricing are definitely not heritage. :P With the modern fusion mix of selections and desserts, it was not exactly cheap and the fare was fairly simple with not much of a WOW factor.

Here's our order:
Smoked Salmon Guaca Bruschetta $13.90

This was way too simple for a plate of $14 but being the salmon sucker that I am, I was drawn to order this. It was just 2 mulit-grain toast slices spread on avocado and smoked salmon basically.

Ugly Nutella
Dark, rich chocolate core oozing out from the soft brownie-like cake which was chewy and rich!
We also had the long black $4 and hot peppermint Nutella $6.

Rainbow Cheesecake
This must-order aesthetically pleasing cheesecake is  jelly soft and sits on a crusty crumble base. Yums Yums to share but gets a bit too gelat as you eat more.

With my sweetie ger, always my supporter. hugs

Head on for some nostalgia reminiscence of the olden days. :)
