Singapore's Celebrates Golden Jubilee SG50 With Fireworks and Aerial Displays

by - Monday, August 10, 2015

hello peeps! How was your Golden Jubilee weekend? 4 days of national holidays celebration and merry making could not have been better. Right? After yesterday's big bash, Singapore has officially stepped into her 50th birthday. Nothing could express the joys and festive spirit in the air as everyone in Singapore came to celebrate this important day which marks our independence "forever a sovereign democratic and independent nation."

No tickets to the parade? With so many fringe activities for everyone during these 4 days, there were more than enough to keep everyone busy. How many did you head for?

Of course to end with a big bang, the highlights of this year's celebrations was the much anticipated fireworks.

Me? I simply love soaking in the atmosphere, being in the moment and snapping away on my camera! All photos by Olympus EP5

Also proud to be a born and breed Singaporean.
Singapore will always be my home.

Being a special year, there were aerial displays by six Republic of Singapore Air Force's Black Knights at 12noon everyday from 7th to 9th August at the Marina South area. The eye feast lasted for all of 25 mins, with 22 manoeuvres much to the exciting exclamations and clapping of the spectators. Kudos!

Aerial Display. Location: Promontory @ Marina Bay area on 9th August.

 State Flag

“50” Formation by 20 F-16 jets.

 Bomb Burst

Arrowhead

Criss Cross

The much anticipated 5 mins grand Fireworks on 9th August 2015.
Location: Promontory at Marina Bay

Fireworks on 7th August ( short duration). Location: Esplanade Bridge
Promontory at MB was stated to be one of the best locations for fireworks but.... I think because I could not get in further to that area due to heavy crowd, the photos at Esplanade bridge turned out much more to my liking.

An 8 minute visual and music showcased Singapore's iconic moments projected onto The Fullerton Hotel.

Last but not least Fireworks at the NE Show on 25th July.
