[Beauty] Illamasqua opens in Singapore ( Orchard/ Ngee Ann City)

by - Wednesday, July 22, 2015

Thanks to Clozette’s invitation we spent a leisure weekend with Illamasqua’s learning about makeup techniques, colors and application.
A makeup brand of British origin, Illamasqua wants to encourage girls to be expressive and aspires you to be what you want. Already stocked in Indonesia (nearest to Singapore), the store at Takashimaya sees their first foray into Singapore’s shores.

One of the highlight for the brand was their latest collection- To Be Alive  consisting of dazzling gorgeous sets of blue hues.
Here they are below!

The limited Edition- Spirit Palette is a eye shadow palette consisting of 4 intense shades of blues and white (highlighter). Channel from cream or powder finishes, Spirit Palette contains Powder Eye Shadows in Cascade (ultraviolet light), Inspire (rich true blue) and Refine (intense midnight blue) combined with Shimmer Cream Eye Shadow in Awaken (delicate ice blue).
Choose to wear them on their for a simple touch of blue or blend in to create a deep, azure/sapphire smoke.
Sizzling bright or what??

Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick in all the gorgeous fun colors.

These unusual shades are more for toning and defining  rather than application on their own. If you are feeling adventurous however, go ahead and make a statement!

Lipsticks (from left to right): Disciple, ESP and Glamore Lipstick in Vendetta [ limited edition].

 Here are the swatches.
Shocking BLUE~ Fret not!

This is how the colors can be changed and toned with the blue stick.

Here's another color toning example. Pink to Purple when mixed with Blue.

With my plus 1 Elgena~

Illamasqua Cream Blusher for a pretty flush.
The blushers are an easy blend of colors for daily shading for anyone.

Other eye shadow color palettes for easy shading and blending.

Gel Sculpt as its name suggests allows you to define and shade your jawlines and cheekbones for a more structured facial look.
Pick up some products with a highlighter brush and blend for natural contours.

Avail in silhouette sheer shadow, in fluster pink and charm orange.

Another highlight at the Illamasqua Makeup Masterclass was meeting celebrity makeup artist Mr. Larry Yeo.
But first a #selfie!

Larry shared with us the best makeup tips such as foundation application techniques, eye lining know-hows and how to best apply colors ( i.e. blue) into our daily outfits and at work.
It was an insightful and engaging demo session for all of us.

Skin Base Foundation was another love of ours. With high coverage and glowing properties, we were almost tempted to buy them home!

Introducing another best seller at Illamasqua- The Veil Collection as a primer series in 2 variants- Matte Veil and Hydra Veil.

Here's the swatch for Hydra Veil which basically acts as a moisturizer cum primer.
This gel formulation is fast absorbent and gives and immediate hydrating boost before makeup. . Provides an instant smoothing effect, hydrates dehydrated skin, calms and refreshes the skin.

Matte Veil
More suited for oily skin, this is a mattifying formulation, priming the skin for shine-free oil control.
