[NEW!] WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR @ ARTSCIENCE MUSEUM'S FUTURE WORLD

It's official. 
The first ever permanent exhibition at Artscience Museum is borned. To bring visitors into an out-of-the-world experience, ArtScience Museum has partnered teamLab, a globally renowned Japanese group of technologists and multi-award winning art collective. teamLab is a creative group of professionals who believe in merging art together with digital technologies and have done up many intriguing exhibitions worldwide, receiving raved reviews from publications such as Wall Street Journal and the NY Times.

If you remember, Teamlab was here in Singapore's Biennale 2013 and presented a very intriguing and interactive art installation-" If The World Changed-  Peace Can Be Realized Even Without Order". Just Youtube them up!

Back to the present, as part of ArtScience Museum's plans since its conceptualization 5 years ago, Future World represents a significant chapter  in the museum's evolution to offer more to its international audiences. Spanning almost a quarter of the museum's gallery space, Future World is a dynamic, technology and media driven showcase that will be refreshed over time.
Be in awe in the 15 digital art installations displaying an integrated world of  art, science, music in the Future World exhibition.
Kicking things off  we attended the press conference with Executive Director ArtScience Museum, Ms Honor Harger ( 2nd from left)  and teamLab Co-Founder Toshiyuki Inoko ( 3rd from left). 


Specially created and selected by teamLab, you will be able to experience 4 themes- Nature, Town, Park and Space.

CHAPTER 1: NATURE

Flowers and People, Cannot be Controlled but Live Together – A Whole Year per Year
Ever Blossoming Life II – A Whole Year per Year, Dark
Flutter of Butterflies Beyond Borders
This installation brings together 3 artworks of teamLab into an ecosystem of digital glowers  and butterflies. This interactive is highly interactive. Petals of flowers follow you depending on which spot you stood on. This piece brings to highlight how intricate humans' relationships are with the environment.



100 Years Sea Animation Diorama
The rising sea level is real and nothing brings more impact than having this issue presented right in your face, The 4 panel large screen portrays tbe beauty if traditional Japanese art with scientific data from the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF). From 100 years to 10 mins this installation brings about increased awareness of climate change.


CHAPTER 2: TOWN
Build your future dream world.

Sketch Town Paper Craft
With a background set against Singapore's most iconic symbols such as Marina Nay Sands etc., participate in the town building by scanning in your colored space craft, rockets, vehicles, UFOs etc. Anything goes!
Scan your 2 Ddrawing under the scanner and see them reflected as 3D objects live! And event turn them into 3D assembled crafts for your keepsake.

As mentioned, you can scan to get your 3D cutout! 

Connecting! Train Block
Design your transport network  by placing the wooden blocks anywhere on the screen to build, remove or divert transportation routes, Cars, airplanes, boats and helicopters can also be added to bring life to the infrastructure.




Media Block Chair
Colorful and playfully cheery, these cube fibreglass chairs allow visitors to build the blocks at ease. When two color blocks are stacked to reflect the new color. Sit on them or stack them to your fancy.

A Table Where Little People Live
The most whimsical display of all. This animated installation is cutely interactive. Have the little people jumped over your objects, push away the rain clouds, set up a fire what. Whatever you fancy, come together and decide how animated you want it to be.

CHAPTER 3: PARK
Come play and have fun using a combination of physical and digital technology

Universe of Water Particles
This 8-meter high waterfall grabs your attention in as an expression of the magnificence of nature. The water particles are digitally programmed and generated to produce accurate water fall simulation in accordance to the law of physics,

Sketch Aquarium
Children's favourite. Unleash your creativity and watch your 2-D sea creatures come to live from paper to screen. COLOUR TIME!  The landscape is ever changing with the add-ons from visitors building a common shared experince.


Light Ball Orchestra
My favourite of all has to be these sweet melody light balls which are so fun to play with. Touch them, roll them, throw them and you will hear music to your ears. These colorful lights just add on to the charm. These movements create a rippling change in audio visual dynamics of the space.



Story of the Time when Gods were Everywhere
Create your own environment by touching the ancient Egyptian characters and see natural elements such as wind, fire, trees come to live. The story begins and changes with visitors' movements.


Create! Hopscotch for Geniuses
HOP HOP HOP~  Create your own hopscotch by arranging different shapes which are then projected onto the floor triggering a variety of lights and sound effects.



CHAPTER 4: SPACE
Crystal Universe
YES! You have come to the  highlight of Future World. Delight and amazement came over us when we stepped into the Crystal Universe. Be captivated and be in awe of this universe's dazzling beauty.  Transport yourself out of the universe and experience planets, stars and galaxies. 
 Utilizing teamLab's Interactive 4-D Vision technology, you can play a part in controlling the effect of over 170,000 LED lights. Embrace on this exciting journey through space and stars twinkling and come to realize that we are part of the vastness of celestial space.

    1. Depending on how long you need to take photos and slowly explore... 1 to 2 hrs should be fine.
