[Food Review] Chill out with beer and burgers at Squires and Scoundrels

Ready to chill after a hard day's work?
Located along the chic Duxton Road in Tanjong Pagar, Squires and Scoundrels is a newly established hangout and the next big thing for burgers and an affordable beer night out.

There are 2 levels to the sitting area and you can choose the upper deck for a little bit more privacy and a bird's eye view at the buzz going on down there. The graffiti art adds to the hippy, nonchalant vibe of the bar.

Grab a beer and catch some screenings/ music... listen to special mixes on

Have some popcorns while waiting for the burgers to be served. I seldom drink nowadays but I love the light and slightly sweet taste of the Cairns Gold beer, $12 which carries 3.3% alcohol.

Here's the Bombay Chicken Burger set which comes served with fries and a dipper made up of roasted garlic, lemon and garlic aioli. $18. Recommended Beer: Tuatara Pale Ale

Well marinated chicken patty comes sandwiched with lettuce, chorizo, grilled green peppers, garlic aioli in between 2 fluffy burger buns. Love the chicken patty which brings out the essence of the burger. Overall this is a 'light' burger, not drowned with burger sauces, so it's pretty easy to finish up without feeling over 'greasy'

For something stronger, try the Blue SKy Pilsner 330ml, 4.5% alcohol, $12.

Here;s the 2nd set we tried that night- the Cuidad de Mexico, also comes served with fries, $19.

The Cuidad burger comes with their specially formulated Wagyu beef, packed in with jalapenos, oregano, green tabasco, spanish onion, cheddar cheese, lettuce and sour cream. They wagyu beef was the highlight and was tender and flavourful.  Besides Cuidada, there are 2 other varieties of wagyu beef burgers- New York and Madrid.

Okay tuck in time~~

Here's a closeup on what goes on behind the counter/kitchen where food and drinks are prepared.

We were served by the very friendly lady in grey checks. I forgot her name but you can't missed her.

Every Wednesday is Ladies Nights... join in for some special drinks deals at $3/glass!

With cool graffiti, excellent music, this is the place to wind down after a hard day.

Game for some Shuffleboard?

The interior furnishings rock with hipster, funky vibe.
Wherever you choose to sit, you will be able to enjoy a great night with the booze and food.

For some sense of humor, we can't get enough of Squires and Scoundrels wittiness.

Why not try out Squires and Scoundrels why deciding for a chill out place next time in Duxton Road  instead of the overcrowded Clarke Quay. Accessible location, good ambience, good food and beer at reasonable prices, what's there to wait for?

Squires and Scoundrels has now started opening for lunch from 11am all the way to 12MN, so if you miss your burger fix, head on down.

Many thanks to Oliver and Brent for the invitation and the warm hospitality.
