[Food Review] Hee Kee (囍記) Desserts at Jurong Point (Promo+ Giveaway)

by - Friday, July 25, 2014

hi peeps! My lifestyle blog is turning into a food blog lately, as I got the opportunities to taste so much yummy  delights at all the new and upcoming restaurants and eateries. Ever thankful for the opportunities of course and I hope you are not sick of reading/looking at those delicious food pics right?

Of course you are NOT! Right? Hahaha...

Today I am back to share this new dessert shop, opened last November at Jurong Point 2. If you live in the west, you would have known how Jurong Point has evolved into this all encompassing, spacious and integrated shopping mall  over the last 2 years with new extensions and renovations. I pretty much love Jurong Point but it's a bit far off for me. Nevertheless, it's a family shopping mall worth visiting if you are sick of being in town one day.
Okay, I digress....

Yes, anyway Hee Kee (囍記) Desserts is what I am sharing today. Do you know Hee Kee means 'Treasuring Happiness' ?  This store was conceptualised by the team behind the Sharetea franchise in Singapore. With a love for Hong Kong traditional desserts, the founders decided to infuse Singaporean taste with Hong Kong style origins and created innovative signatures seen on the menu today.

With its Hong Kong-trained chefs, all the 80 over of their dessert selections are hand-made fresh daily.

I present to you the top 6 'Must-Trys' of Hee Kee Desserts~~~
[[And if you stay on till the end, I am giving you some discounts and vouchers! ]]

If you prefer the more traditional versions, Hee Kee now brings over the Traditional Steamed Milk Pudding ($3.50).
These puddings are highly raved and a must-have when in Hong Kong. Theirs tasted authentic enough to reminisce your Hong Kong days slurping over the Steamed Milk/Egg Pudding.
Not too sweet and just nice, choose from hot or cold as your afternoon tea break.

Next, we have the Homemade Beancurd with Gula Melaka ($3.30). Remember the origins of beacurd before Lao Ban's craze?  This is your olden days soft beancurd, soft but added with a twist of gula melaka syrup instead.

How about a coconut Summer twist? A fun, tasty and cooling treat on the menu is the Whole Coconut with Coconut Ice Cream and Peanut Crush ($8.80).

Something different, dig your way through the whole coconut to find hidden treasures of succulent coconut flesh and generous amount of ice cream. Good for sharing ~

 My favourite selection~

Fresh Coconut flesh, all pre-scropped for easy consumption.

For something fresh and creative, try their Mango Cheong Fun ($3.30 per piece), embedded with huge chunks of fresh, juicy mango wrapped in springy 'rice' rolls made of.... guess what?  Sweet Coconut.

On first glance, you might have the false impression that the skin is indeed made of flour and rice, no?
I seriously wasn't expecting on chewing something so jelly soft...! This is how your eyes can play tricks on you, what we perceived is not always the norm.

Makes a good instagram photo right?

Smooth sweet mango, this dessert is intricately crafted, playing up on the presentation as well as the flavor. My 2nd favorite from Hee Kee. Totally rave this!

Now for the signature highlights- D24 Durian!
This is the D24 Durian Sauce with Sago ($5.80). For the pricing, this dessert is economical. Durian sauce served with of the bittersweet durian flesh and served with generous sagos.

The sago was just bursting in my mouth, rolling with the fragrance of the authentic D24 durian flesh.
Satisfy your durian cravings all year round.

Lastly, we had the Durian Pancake (from $3.30).
Not steamed, do not be mistaken as it's just part of the presentation on how they were served.

Another creation from Hee Kee, this pancake  is a combination of durian puree and whipped cream! Something special right? Wrapped in coconut infused skin.

Golden Custard Tang Yuan! Woohoo~~ 流沙汤圆
